If your skirting is left in place, there are scotia trims that do the job and these often come in a matching colour. These are fastened to the skirting and allow for expansion. Be sure they are water-proof if installing in the kitchen or wet areas. You might consider fitting a primed quad or scotia trim, caulking and then painting the same as the skirting. Another popular way is to carefully remove the skirting itself and re-attach it after the flooring has been completed.
Integra Direct can provide this service as you can see with this wonderful Fusion ‘Native Blackbutt’ Hybrid floor. While all care will be taken, be prepared to carry out your own minor touch ups and filling or simply another coat of paint to bring back that fresh and new look.
If you happen to be renovating or building a new home, try leaving the skirting off until the flooring has been installed and you can get a wonderful classy look.
